Permissions in Flow

Last updated: October 18, 2025

Flow has two very simple permissions types currently (with more expected to be built out soon). These are Can Edit and Can View.

People who have Edit permissions can take any action in Flow except:

  • Reviewing an item that they were not set as a reviewer for

  • Deleting the whole project (only the project creator can do this)

People with View permissions can see any data in from any view in Flow, but not make any changes except:

  • Adding or removing themselves as a subscriber to any item

Viewers cannot export the data from a project to CSV. Often View permissions are granted to external stakeholders who need an up to date view of the latest data in the project but should not be making changes to it.

Editors can make themselves or anyone else in the project a Viewer. Once someone is made a Viewer only another editor can upgrade them up to being an Editor

To edit a user's permissions first go to Settings.

Under the specific Project or Organisation level settings click on the Members tab and the permissions for any project member can be modified from the Can Edit/Can View dropdown.
